  1. Oversee and manage all environmental services operations for the City of Tucson.
  2. Develop and implement strategies to promote sustainability and protect natural resources in the city.
  3. Collaborate with city officials, community organizations, and other stakeholders to achieve environmental goals.
  4. Monitor and analyze environmental trends and regulations to ensure compliance and identify areas for improvement.
  5. Lead a team of environmental professionals to effectively execute programs and projects.
  6. Develop and manage the department's budget and resources.
  7. Conduct regular audits and evaluations to assess the effectiveness of environmental programs and make necessary adjustments.
  8. Act as a spokesperson for the city on environmental issues and initiatives.
  9. Foster partnerships with local businesses and organizations to promote sustainable practices.
  10. Stay up-to-date on emerging environmental technologies and best practices to continuously improve the city's environmental efforts.
  11. Represent the city in regional and national environmental committees and conferences.
  12. Develop and maintain relationships with state and federal agencies to secure funding and resources for environmental projects.
  13. Prepare and present reports on the department's progress and accomplishments to city officials and the public.
  14. Coordinate with other city departments to ensure environmental considerations are integrated into all city operations.
  15. Ensure compliance with all relevant laws, regulations, and policies related to environmental services.

Job Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree In Environmental Science, Public Administration, Or A Related Field.

  • Minimum Of 5 Years Of Experience In A Leadership Role In Environmental Services, Preferably In A Municipal Government Setting.

  • Strong Understanding Of Local, State, And Federal Environmental Regulations And Laws.

  • Proven Track Record Of Successfully Managing And Implementing Environmental Programs And Initiatives.

  • Excellent Communication, Problem-Solving, And Analytical Skills, With The Ability To Collaborate With Stakeholders And Effectively Manage A Team.
