- Oversee and manage all environmental services operations for the City of Tucson.
- Develop and implement strategies to promote sustainability and protect natural resources in the city.
- Collaborate with city officials, community organizations, and other stakeholders to achieve environmental goals.
- Monitor and analyze environmental trends and regulations to ensure compliance and identify areas for improvement.
- Lead a team of environmental professionals to effectively execute programs and projects.
- Develop and manage the department's budget and resources.
- Conduct regular audits and evaluations to assess the effectiveness of environmental programs and make necessary adjustments.
- Act as a spokesperson for the city on environmental issues and initiatives.
- Foster partnerships with local businesses and organizations to promote sustainable practices.
- Stay up-to-date on emerging environmental technologies and best practices to continuously improve the city's environmental efforts.
- Represent the city in regional and national environmental committees and conferences.
- Develop and maintain relationships with state and federal agencies to secure funding and resources for environmental projects.
- Prepare and present reports on the department's progress and accomplishments to city officials and the public.
- Coordinate with other city departments to ensure environmental considerations are integrated into all city operations.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant laws, regulations, and policies related to environmental services.
Bachelor's Degree In Environmental Science, Public Administration, Or A Related Field.
Minimum Of 5 Years Of Experience In A Leadership Role In Environmental Services, Preferably In A Municipal Government Setting.
Strong Understanding Of Local, State, And Federal Environmental Regulations And Laws.
Proven Track Record Of Successfully Managing And Implementing Environmental Programs And Initiatives.
Excellent Communication, Problem-Solving, And Analytical Skills, With The Ability To Collaborate With Stakeholders And Effectively Manage A Team.
