- Oversee the maintenance and care of all athletic fields and turf areas within the city.
- Develop and implement a comprehensive turf management plan to ensure the safety, playability, and aesthetics of all outdoor recreational spaces.
- Supervise and lead a team of groundskeepers and seasonal workers in the day-to-day maintenance of the fields and turf areas.
- Monitor and manage the budget for the sport fields and turf division, including purchasing necessary equipment and supplies.
- Conduct regular inspections to identify and address any issues or concerns with the fields and turf, taking corrective action as needed.
- Collaborate with other city departments, contractors, and vendors to coordinate and schedule field maintenance and renovations.
- Provide training and guidance to staff on proper turf management techniques, equipment operation, and safety protocols.
- Stay current on industry best practices and advancements in turf management, implementing new strategies and techniques as appropriate.
- Respond to and resolve any complaints or concerns from the public regarding the condition of the fields and turf areas.
- Foster positive relationships with community sports leagues and organizations, ensuring their needs and concerns are addressed in a timely and satisfactory manner.
- Maintain accurate records and reports related to field maintenance, budget expenditures, and staff performance.
- Participate in city-wide events and initiatives related to outdoor recreational spaces, representing the sport fields and turf division.
- Uphold all safety regulations and procedures to ensure a safe working environment for staff and the public.
- Communicate effectively with a diverse range of stakeholders, including city officials, community members, and colleagues.
- Demonstrate a commitment to providing exceptional service and maintaining high standards of quality for all outdoor recreational spaces in the city.
Bachelor's Degree In Turf Management, Sports Field Management, Or A Related Field
Minimum Of 3 Years Experience In A Supervisory Role At A Sports Field Or Turf Management Facility
Knowledge Of Turf Maintenance Techniques And Equipment Operation
Strong Communication And Leadership Skills To Effectively Manage A Team Of Employees
