
Infection Preventionist

- Develop and implement infection prevention policies and procedures in accordance with national guidelines and best practices.
- Conduct regular audits and assessments to identify potential infection control risks and recommend corrective actions.
- Monitor and investigate healthcare-associated infections (HAIs) to identify trends and develop strategies for prevention.
- Collaborate with healthcare teams to educate and train staff on infection control protocols and procedures.
- Keep up-to-date with current infection control research and guidelines to ensure best practices are being followed.
- Participate in outbreak management and provide guidance and support to contain and prevent the spread of infectious diseases.
- Maintain accurate records and reports related to infection control activities and HAIs.
- Conduct infection control rounds and provide feedback and recommendations for improvement.
- Serve as a resource for staff, patients, and families on infection control practices and strategies.
- Collaborate with other healthcare facilities and agencies to share best practices and promote infection control initiatives.
- Monitor and ensure compliance with infection control regulations and standards set by regulatory bodies.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives related to infection control.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of infection control-related policies and procedures.
- Assist with the development and review of infection control-related training materials and resources.
- Stay updated on new and emerging infectious diseases and make recommendations for preparedness and response plans.
- Attend and participate in relevant meetings, conferences, and trainings to stay current on infection control practices.
- Serve as a liaison between the infection control team and other departments within the healthcare facility.
- Maintain strict confidentiality and adhere to ethical standards in all infection control activities.
Bachelor's Or Master's Degree In Nursing, Public Health, Or A Related Field.
Certification In Infection Control (Cic) From The Certification Board Of Infection Control And Epidemiology (Cbic).
Minimum Of 3-5 Years Of Experience In Infection Prevention And Control, Preferably In A Healthcare Setting.
Strong Knowledge Of Infection Control Practices, Regulations, And Guidelines From Organizations Such As The Cdc, Who, And Cms.
Excellent Communication, Leadership, And Problem-Solving Skills With The Ability To Collaborate With Interdisciplinary Teams.
