  1. Prepare and dispense radiopharmaceuticals for diagnostic and therapeutic procedures.
  2. Monitor and maintain inventory of radiopharmaceuticals and associated supplies.
  3. Follow all safety protocols and guidelines for handling radioactive materials.
  4. Ensure accuracy and precision in the preparation and dispensing of radiopharmaceuticals.
  5. Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to determine appropriate radiopharmaceuticals for patient care.
  6. Provide patient counseling and education on the proper use and potential side effects of radiopharmaceuticals.
  7. Maintain accurate and complete records of all radiopharmaceuticals prepared and dispensed.
  8. Conduct quality control and quality assurance measures to ensure the safety and efficacy of radiopharmaceuticals.
  9. Stay up-to-date with industry advancements and changes in regulations related to nuclear pharmacy.
  10. Adhere to all institutional policies and procedures, as well as state and federal regulations.
  11. Participate in the training and supervision of pharmacy technicians and other pharmacy staff.
  12. Communicate effectively with patients, healthcare professionals, and other team members.
  13. Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
  14. Participate in performance improvement initiatives to enhance patient care and safety.
  15. Provide exceptional customer service by addressing any patient or healthcare professional concerns or inquiries.
  16. Attend continuing education programs and conferences to maintain and enhance knowledge and skills in nuclear pharmacy.
  17. Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to develop and implement new protocols and procedures related to nuclear pharmacy.
  18. Adhere to ethical and professional standards and maintain patient confidentiality at all times.

Job Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree In Pharmacy Or Related Field: A Minimum Of A Bachelor's Degree In Pharmacy Or A Related Field Is Typically Required For A Nuclear Pharmacist Position. This Education Provides A Strong Foundation In Pharmacology, Drug Therapy, And Patient Care.

  • Completion Of An Accredited Nuclear Pharmacy Training Program: Nuclear Pharmacists Are Responsible For Handling And Preparing Radioactive Materials, So Specialized Training In This Area Is Essential. Completion Of An Accredited Nuclear Pharmacy Training Program Demonstrates Knowledge And Competency In Radiation Safety And Handling Procedures.

  • State Licensure: Nuclear Pharmacists Must Hold A Valid License To Practice Pharmacy In The State Where They Work. This Requires Passing A State-Specific Exam And Meeting All Other State Requirements For Licensure.

  • Board Certification In Nuclear Pharmacy: While Not Always Required, Obtaining Board Certification In Nuclear Pharmacy Is Highly Recommended For Nuclear Pharmacist Positions. This Certification Demonstrates A Higher Level Of Expertise And Can Lead To Increased Job Opportunities And Higher Salaries.
