  1. Dispensing Medications: The primary responsibility of an outpatient pharmacist at the Cleveland Clinic is to accurately and efficiently dispense medications to patients according to their prescriptions and established protocols.
  2. Collaborating with Healthcare Professionals: The pharmacist will work closely with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive pharmaceutical care to patients. This may include reviewing medication orders, consulting on drug therapy, and making recommendations for appropriate treatments.
  3. Patient Counseling: As an outpatient pharmacist, you will be responsible for counseling patients on proper medication use, potential side effects, and drug interactions. This may also include providing education on disease management and lifestyle modifications.
  4. Adhering to Regulations: The pharmacist must ensure adherence to all state and federal regulations, as well as organizational policies and procedures, in regards to the storage, handling, and dispensing of medications.
  5. Maintaining Accurate Records: It is the responsibility of the pharmacist to maintain accurate and up-to-date patient medication records, including prescription information, allergies, and potential contraindications.
  6. Monitoring Medication Therapy: The pharmacist will be responsible for monitoring medication therapy and making necessary adjustments based on patient response, laboratory values, and drug interactions.
  7. Managing Inventory: The pharmacist will be responsible for managing the inventory of medications, ensuring adequate supply levels, and overseeing the proper storage and disposal of expired or unused medications.
  8. Contributing to Quality Improvement: The pharmacist will participate in quality improvement initiatives, including reviewing and analyzing medication errors, developing and implementing corrective actions, and providing education to staff.
  9. Maintaining Professional Development: The pharmacist is expected to stay current with new medications, therapies, and developments in the field by attending continuing education programs and staying up-to-date with professional literature.
  10. Upholding Patient Care Standards: As a representative of the Cleveland Clinic, the pharmacist is expected to uphold the organization's high standards of patient care and customer service at all times. This includes maintaining a professional demeanor, respecting patient confidentiality,

Job Qualifications
  • A Doctor Of Pharmacy (Pharmd) Degree From An Accredited University Or College.

  • A Valid State License To Practice Pharmacy In Ohio.

  • Previous Experience Working In An Outpatient Pharmacy Setting.

  • Strong Knowledge Of Medication Therapy Management And Ability To Counsel Patients On Proper Medication Use.

  • Excellent Communication Skills And Ability To Work Collaboratively With Other Healthcare Professionals.
