Job Description

Cleveland Clinic is looking for a compassionate Patient Companion who is dedicated to providing high quality care and support to patients during their hospital stay. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, be able to work in a fast-paced environment, and possess a compassionate and caring attitude. The Patient Companion will need to be reliable and able to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays. This role requires a minimum of a high school diploma or GED. Previous experience working in a healthcare setting is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities:

  1. Provide high quality care and support to patients during their hospital stay.
  2. Develop and maintain positive relationships with patients and their families.
  3. Monitor patients' condition and report any changes to the healthcare team.
  4. Communicate with the healthcare team to ensure a high level of patient care.
  5. Assist patients with basic needs, such as bathing, dressing, and hygiene.
  6. Support patients in activities of daily living.
  7. Assist with light housekeeping duties.
  8. Administer medications as directed by the healthcare team.
  9. Maintain patient privacy and confidentiality.
  10. Assist with patient transfers and ambulation.
  11. Maintain a clean and safe environment for patients.
  12. Attend and participate in team meetings and other professional development activities.
  13. Be available to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays as needed.
