  • Provide compassionate and skilled nursing care to patients in the surgical short stay unit
  • Collaborate with a team of healthcare professionals to ensure exceptional patient outcomes
  • Utilize critical thinking skills to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care plans
  • Effectively communicate with patients, families, and healthcare team members to provide education and support
  • Adhere to established policies, procedures, and protocols to maintain patient safety and quality of care
  • Document and maintain accurate and thorough patient records
  • Monitor and administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians
  • Respond to emergent situations and provide appropriate interventions

Job Qualifications
  • Active Rn License: The Ideal Candidate For An Rn - Surgical Short Stay Job At Cleveland Clinic Must Possess An Active And Unrestricted Rn License In The State Of Ohio, Or Be Eligible To Obtain One.

  • Bsn Degree: A Bachelor Of Science In Nursing (Bsn) Degree Is Preferred For This Role. This Degree Provides A Strong Foundation In Nursing Theory And Evidence-Based Practice, Which Is Essential For Providing Quality Care In A Fast-Paced Surgical Setting.

  • Minimum 2 Years Of Surgical Nursing Experience: Candidates Should Have A Minimum Of 2 Years Of Experience In A Surgical Setting, Preferably In A Short Stay Or Ambulatory Surgery Unit. This Experience Will Ensure They Have A Strong Understanding Of Surgical Procedures And Can Effectively Manage Post-Operative Care For Patients.

  • Acls Certification: Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (Acls) Certification Is Required For This Position. This Certification Demonstrates The Candidate's Ability To Recognize And Respond To Life-Threatening Emergencies, Which Is Crucial In A Surgical Setting.

  • Excellent Communication And Interpersonal Skills: The Ability To Communicate Effectively With Patients, Families, And Interdisciplinary Team Members Is Essential For Success In This Role. Candidates Should Also Possess Strong Critical Thinking And Problem-Solving Skills To Make Quick And Accurate Decisions In A Fast-Paced Environment.
