Ambulance Dispatcher

Knowledge of medical terminology, EMT procedures, and familiarity with local geography is preferred. Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills are essential.

Responsibilities:

1. Answer incoming calls to the ambulance dispatch center and respond to emergency medical service requests.
2. Provide professional and courteous customer service to callers.
3. Gather and accurately enter all pertinent information into the dispatch system.
4. Coordinate the dispatch of ambulances to the appropriate medical facilities.
5. Monitor and track ambulance locations and status of ongoing calls.
6. Maintain communication with all personnel involved in the dispatch process.
7. Follow all safety procedures and protocols when dispatching ambulances.
8. Assist in training new dispatchers.
9. Remain up to date on local geography and emergency services resources.
10. Handle difficult situations with tact and diplomacy.
