Data Engineering Architect

At Comerica Bank, we are looking for a Data Engineering Architect to help us manage our mission-critical data systems and take our data engineering capabilities to the next level. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced and creative individual to drive innovation in our data engineering processes. The ideal candidate will have excellent problem-solving skills, be able to work independently with minimal oversight, and have a passion for working with data.We are seeking a highly motivated, self-driven individual with at least 8 years of experience in data engineering. The successful candidate will have a track record of success in developing and implementing data engineering strategies and should possess excellent communication and collaboration skills. They should have experience working with data in various formats, including structured, unstructured, and semi-structured data, and should be well-versed in the use of SQL, Python, and/or other programming languages. Experience with big data tools, such as Hadoop and Spark, is also desirable. The ideal candidate should also be familiar with data modeling techniques and be able to design and implement data pipelines. Finally, the successful candidate should have a strong customer-focus and an aptitude for quickly adapting to changing requirements.

Responsibilities:

1. Design and implement data engineering strategies to improve data management and analysis.
2. Develop and manage mission-critical data systems.
3. Utilize SQL, Python, and other programming languages to work with data in various formats, including structured, unstructured, and semi-structured data.
4. Design and implement data pipelines.
5. Utilize big data tools, such as Hadoop and Spark, to optimize data analysis.
6. Create and maintain data models.
7. Troubleshoot data engineering issues and provide technical support.
8. Collaborate with other teams to ensure data accuracy and integrity.
9. Monitor and analyze changing customer requirements and adjust data engineering strategies accordingly.
10. Ensure data security and privacy.
