Job Description

Corning is looking for an exceptional individual to join our team as a Glassmaking Process Engineering Intern. The ideal candidate should have a strong interest in glass science and engineering, and be eager to learn and develop their skills in the field. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a passion for glass technology to gain valuable experience in the industry.Required Qualifications:• Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, or a related field• Knowledge of glass manufacturing processes and related chemistry• Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills• Self-motivated with a strong work ethic and ability to work independently• Ability to work with teams, both in-house and external, to develop new ideas and solutions• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, CAD/CAM, and other software applications

Responsibilities:

  1. Assist with the development and implementation of glassmaking processes and related chemistry.
  2. Work with teams to develop new ideas and solutions for glassmaking processes and related chemistry.
  3. Analyze data and troubleshoot any issues with glassmaking processes and related chemistry.
  4. Collaborate with in-house and external teams to ensure process optimization.
  5. Monitor and adjust glassmaking processes and related chemistry as necessary.
  6. Utilize CAD/CAM and other software applications to complete projects.
  7. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry standards and regulations.
  8. Prepare reports and presentations to document progress and results.
  9. Follow safety regulations and procedures in the laboratory environment.
  10. Participate in training sessions and workshops to enhance glass technology knowledge.
