
Research Scientist, Electron Microscopy
Corning is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Research Scientist for its Electron Microscopy team. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to join a dynamic, multi-disciplinary team of scientists and engineers, to lead innovative research projects, and to make significant contributions in the areas of electron microscopy, materials characterization, and data analysis.This position requires a Ph.D. Degree in Materials Science and Engineering, Chemistry, Physics, or a related field with a minimum of three years of post-doctoral research experience in the field of electron microscopy and correlated techniques. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in electron microscopy and materials characterization, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to lead and collaborate with others within and outside the team. The successful candidate must also possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to work independently to achieve results.
Responsibilities:
- Lead innovative research projects in the areas of electron microscopy, materials characterization, and data analysis
- Utilize electron microscopy techniques and correlated methods to conduct research
- Design experiments and develop methods to analyze data
- Provide technical guidance to team members and collaborate with scientists and engineers across multiple disciplines
- Develop and present reports, white papers, and presentations on research progress
- Proactively seek out and identify new areas of research and collaborate with external partners
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of the field of electron microscopy and materials characterization
- Manage multiple research projects and meet deadlines
- Assist in the preparation and submission of proposals for research funding
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and standards.
