
Thermal Design Engineer
Responsible for Thermal Equipment Engineering assignments; including mechanical design, prototyping, installation, acceptance, and start-up for thermal / fluid flow equipment and process in all Corning Businesses. Contribute individually or in collaboration with internal and external multi-functional teams to rigorously apply engineering principles primarily in the fields of mechanical design, heat transfer and fluid mechanics Grow in others technical curiosity, competencies and expertise in equipment and process engineering support for manufacturing or mass production with fundamental understanding. Build-on communication, leadership and project management skills on dynamic fast-pace projects in timely manner. Investigate new technologies to enhance thermal processes to ensure Corning’s long-term success.
Experience in equipment or process engineering applied for machine design, equipment / system integration
Design experience incorporating specialized atmospheres, thermal insulation, radiation barriers, etc.
Expertise in the application of multiple type of thermal energy sources
Familiarity with thermal or flow equipment engineering
5+ years’ experience in mechanical/equipment design and engineering
