  1. Perform blood collection procedures in a safe, accurate, and efficient manner.
  2. Maintain a high level of professionalism and compassion while interacting with patients.
  3. Ensure proper identification and labeling of blood samples to maintain accuracy and prevent errors.
  4. Follow established protocols and procedures for specimen handling and processing.
  5. Maintain a clean and organized work environment to ensure patient safety and prevent contamination.
  6. Monitor and report any changes or abnormalities in patient blood samples to healthcare professionals.
  7. Adhere to all safety and infection control protocols to protect both patients and staff.
  8. Provide exceptional customer service by addressing patient concerns and inquiries in a timely and professional manner.
  9. Continuously update knowledge and skills through training and education to ensure best practices are followed.
  10. Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure efficient and effective patient care.
  11. Keep accurate records of blood collections and other required documentation.
  12. Maintain confidentiality and privacy of patient information at all times.
  13. Comply with all regulatory requirements and company policies.
  14. Demonstrate a positive and team-oriented attitude towards colleagues and patients.

Job Qualifications
  • Certification: A Phlebotomist At Covance-Labcorp Must Hold A Valid Certification From An Accredited Institution, Such As The American Society For Clinical Pathology (Ascp) Or The National Phlebotomy Association (Npa).

  • Experience: The Ideal Candidate Should Have A Minimum Of 1 Year Of Experience As A Phlebotomist In A Clinical Setting, Preferably In A Laboratory Or Hospital Environment.

  • Knowledge Of Medical Terminology: A Strong Understanding Of Medical Terminology Is Essential For A Phlebotomist At Covance-Labcorp To Accurately Identify And Label Specimens.

  • Attention To Detail: As A Phlebotomist, Attention To Detail Is Crucial In Order To Correctly Follow Protocols, Maintain Accurate Records, And Ensure The Integrity Of Specimens.

  • Interpersonal Skills: Covance-Labcorp Values Strong Interpersonal Skills In Their Phlebotomists, As They Will Be Interacting With Patients And Healthcare Professionals On A Daily Basis. Strong Communication And Customer Service Skills Are Necessary For Providing A Positive Patient Experience.
