Job Description

Are you a skilled mechanic with a passion for working on cars? Do you have experience in maintaining and repairing various mechanical systems? If so, CSX is seeking an experienced Mechanical - Carman to join our team. As a Carman, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the safety and efficiency of our fleet of locomotives.   1. Perform regular maintenance and repair tasks on locomotives to ensure their safe and efficient operation.
  2. Troubleshoot and diagnose mechanical issues with locomotives and implement appropriate solutions.
  3. Conduct thorough inspections of locomotives and identify any potential problems.
  4. Keep accurate records of all maintenance and repair work performed on locomotives.
  5. Collaborate with other team members to prioritize and delegate tasks in a timely manner.
  6. Follow all safety protocols and company procedures while working on locomotives.
  7. Communicate effectively with supervisors and colleagues to provide updates on progress and any issues encountered.
  8. Stay up-to-date with industry advancements and techniques to continuously improve performance and efficiency.
  9. Monitor and maintain inventory of necessary tools and equipment for maintenance and repairs.
  10. Provide support and guidance to junior mechanics and assist in their training and development.

Job Qualifications

  • High School Diploma Or Equivalent: A Minimum Education Requirement For A Mechanical - Carman Job At Csx Is A High School Diploma Or Equivalent. This Shows A Basic Level Of Education And Knowledge Necessary For The Job.
