
Wage and Hour Investigator, People Services

In this role, you will be responsible for investigating and resolving wage and hour complaints and ensuring compliance with all state and federal laws. - Conduct thorough investigations of wage and hour complaints, including gathering and analyzing evidence, interviewing relevant parties, and documenting findings.
- Ensure compliance with all state and federal laws regarding wage and hour practices, including but not limited to minimum wage, overtime, and meal and rest break requirements.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Legal and HR, to develop and implement strategies for resolving complaints and preventing future violations.
- Stay up-to-date on changes to wage and hour laws and regulations and communicate updates to relevant stakeholders.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with external agencies, such as the Department of Labor, to ensure timely and accurate reporting and resolution of complaints.
- Provide guidance and training to managers and employees on wage and hour laws, policies, and procedures.
- Conduct audits and reviews of payroll and timekeeping records to identify and resolve any discrepancies or potential violations.
- Document and maintain accurate records of investigations, complaints, and resolutions.
- Communicate findings and recommendations to senior leadership and make proactive suggestions for improving processes and practices to prevent future violations.
- Maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion and professionalism.
- Work closely with the People Services team to ensure fair and compliant labor practices are upheld throughout the organization.
- Uphold DaVita's core values and culture of teamwork, accountability, and continuous improvement.
Knowledge Of Wage And Hour Laws: A Qualified Candidate For This Role Should Have A Deep Understanding Of Federal And State Wage And Hour Laws, Including The Fair Labor Standards Act (Flsa) And State-Specific Regulations. This Knowledge Will Allow Them To Effectively Investigate And Resolve Any Potential Wage And Hour Violations Within The Organization.
Experience In Human Resources Or Employment Law: Previous Experience In Human Resources Or Employment Law Is Crucial For A Wage And Hour Investigator. This Background Will Provide The Necessary Knowledge And Skills To Handle Complex Investigations And Navigate The Legal Aspects Of Wage And Hour Compliance.
Strong Analytical And Investigative Skills: The Role Of A Wage And Hour Investigator Requires Strong Analytical And Investigative Skills To Gather And Analyze Evidence, Conduct Interviews, And Determine The Appropriate Course Of Action. A Candidate With Experience In Conducting Workplace Investigations Will Be Better Equipped To Handle This Aspect Of The Job.
