
Patient Account Representative - Insurance Follow Up

In this role, you will work closely with insurance companies to ensure timely and accurate reimbursement for medical services rendered. - Communicate with insurance companies to follow up on outstanding claims and ensure timely reimbursement for medical services provided.
- Review and verify insurance coverage for patients, including eligibility, deductibles, and copays.
- Accurately code and submit claims to insurance companies, following all guidelines and regulations.
- Investigate and resolve any claim denials or discrepancies, working closely with insurance representatives and other departments as needed.
- Maintain detailed and organized records of all communication and actions taken with insurance companies.
- Collaborate with healthcare providers to gather necessary documentation and information for insurance claims.
- Monitor and track payments from insurance companies, identifying and addressing any delays or issues.
- Stay up-to-date on insurance industry changes and regulations, adjusting processes and procedures as needed.
- Provide exceptional customer service to patients and their families, addressing any questions or concerns related to insurance coverage and claims.
- Identify and recommend opportunities for process improvements to increase efficiency and decrease errors in insurance follow-up procedures.
Knowledge Of Insurance Billing And Reimbursement Processes: A Patient Account Representative At Deaconess Health System Must Have A Thorough Understanding Of Insurance Billing And Reimbursement Procedures. This Includes Knowledge Of Different Insurance Plans, Coding Requirements, And Claims Submission Processes.
Experience In Accounts Receivable Management: The Ideal Candidate Should Have Experience In Managing Accounts Receivable, Particularly In A Healthcare Setting. This Includes Experience In Tracking And Following Up On Unpaid Claims, Resolving Denials, And Managing Appeals.
Strong Communication Skills: As A Patient Account Representative, Effective Communication Is Essential. The Representative Must Be Able To Communicate Clearly And Professionally With Insurance Companies, Patients, And Other Healthcare Providers To Resolve Billing Issues And Answer Questions.
Attention To Detail: A Patient Account Representative Must Have A Keen Eye For Detail To Ensure Accuracy In Claims Processing And Payment Posting. This Includes Reviewing Claims For Errors, Identifying And Correcting Coding Issues, And Verifying Patient Information.
Ability To Work Independently And In A Team: Deaconess Health System Values Employees Who Can Work Independently And In A Team Environment. The Patient Account Representative Must Be Able To Manage Their Workload Efficiently And Collaborate With Other Team Members To Achieve Department Goals.
