
Patient Care Technician
At Deaconess Health System, we are looking for a passionate and dedicated Patient Care Technician to join our team. As a Patient Care Technician, you will be an integral part of the patient care team, providing direct patient care and support to patients in a variety of settings. You must be committed to providing compassionate, quality care and have a strong desire to help others.To be successful in this role, you must have a high school diploma or equivalent, have prior experience in a healthcare setting, and be certified or be eligible to become certified as a Patient Care Technician. You must possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to work collaboratively with a team and independently. Responsibilities: • Provide direct patient care including taking vital signs, collecting specimens, and providing basic physical care • Assist with patient intake and discharge processes • Monitor patient progress and document changes in the patient’s condition • Assist with bedside procedures and treatments • Escort patients to and from various areas in the healthcare setting • Administer medications as directed • Answer calls and respond to patient/family inquiries • Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members • Maintain patient charts and other administrative/clerical duties as assigned • Follow all safety and infection control protocols • Adhere to all HIPAA regulations and maintain patient confidentiality
