Patient Intake Specialist I

1. Greet and welcome patients and their families upon arrival, providing a warm and friendly atmosphere.
2. Collect and verify patient information, including personal and insurance information, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
3. Schedule and confirm appointments for patients, coordinating with other departments as necessary.
4. Answer phone calls and respond to inquiries from patients and their families, providing excellent customer service.
5. Assist patients with completing necessary forms and paperwork, explaining processes and answering any questions they may have.
6. Collaborate with clinical staff to ensure timely and accurate documentation and communication of patient information.
7. Maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to all HIPAA regulations.
8. Monitor and track patient wait times, notifying appropriate staff members of any delays or issues.
9. Coordinate with insurance companies to obtain authorizations and verify coverage for services.
10. Process patient payments and provide information on financial assistance programs, as needed.
11. Keep track of office supplies and order new supplies as needed.
12. Attend staff meetings and training sessions to stay updated on policies, procedures, and best practices.
13. Maintain a clean and organized work environment to ensure a professional and welcoming atmosphere for patients.
14. Uphold the mission and values of Deaconess Health System, promoting a positive and caring culture.
15. Other duties as assigned by supervisor.
