Job Description

Makes inspections, investigations, and surveys of restaurants, bars, retail food establishments, public drinking water supply systems, swimming pools, institutions and recreational facilities. Conducts installation and abandonment inspections of underground storage tanks. Issues written notices regarding the compliance and enforcement of applicable laws and regulations. Provides consultations during hazardous waste spills or other emergency health hazards. Appears as a witness in legal proceedings relating to the enforcement of environmental health laws. Prepares reports and correspondence. Assists in training of department personnel. Review plans, interpret laws and regulations and issue permits.
