  1. Oversee and manage all aspects of the payroll operations for Discover Financial Services.
  2. Ensure accurate and timely processing of employee payments, including salaries, bonuses, and benefits.
  3. Develop and implement new payroll processes and procedures to improve efficiency and accuracy.
  4. Stay up-to-date on all federal, state, and local payroll laws and regulations and ensure compliance in all payroll practices.
  5. Monitor and analyze payroll data to identify and resolve any discrepancies or issues.
  6. Collaborate with the finance department and other cross-functional teams to ensure accurate and timely reporting of payroll data.
  7. Train and develop a team of payroll professionals, providing guidance and support to ensure their success.
  8. Manage relationships with external vendors and service providers to ensure high-quality and cost-effective payroll services.
  9. Develop and maintain payroll policies and procedures, ensuring adherence to company standards and best practices.
  10. Continuously evaluate and improve payroll processes, systems, and technology to streamline operations and increase efficiency.
  11. Prepare and present payroll reports and analysis to senior management.
  12. Proactively identify and communicate potential payroll risks and provide recommendations for mitigation.
  13. Maintain strict confidentiality of all payroll information and handle sensitive employee data with discretion.
  14. Serve as a subject matter expert on payroll-related inquiries and provide guidance to employees and managers.
  15. Act as a key liaison between the payroll department and other departments within the organization.

  • Extensive Experience In Payroll Management: A Senior Manager At Discover Financial Services Should Have At Least 5-7 Years Of Experience In Managing Payroll Operations For A Large Organization. This Includes Knowledge Of Payroll Laws, Regulations, And Best Practices.

  • Strong Leadership Skills: As A Senior Manager, This Role Requires The Ability To Lead A Team Of Payroll Specialists And Manage Cross-Functional Relationships. The Ideal Candidate Should Have Proven Experience In Managing And Developing A Team, As Well As The Ability To Mentor And Coach Team Members.

  • High Level Of Accuracy And Attention To Detail: Payroll Is A Highly Sensitive Area And Even The Slightest Error Can Have Significant Consequences. A Senior Manager At Discover Financial Services Should Have A Strong Attention To Detail And A Track Record Of Maintaining A High Level Of Accuracy In Payroll Processing.

  • Experience With Payroll Systems And Technology: The Ideal Candidate Should Have Experience With Payroll Systems And Technology, Including Adp, Workday, Or Similar Platforms. They Should Also Be Comfortable With Using Technology To Streamline Processes And Improve Efficiency.

  • Excellent Communication And Interpersonal Skills: This Role Requires Frequent Interactions With Internal And External Stakeholders, Including Employees, Hr, And External Vendors. A Senior Manager At Discover Financial Services Should Have Excellent Communication And Interpersonal Skills To Effectively Manage These Relationships And Resolve Any Issues That May Arise.
