- Provide exceptional care and support to patients in accordance with Encompass Health's standards and policies.
- Assist patients with daily tasks, such as bathing, dressing, and toileting, while maintaining their dignity and privacy.
- Monitor and report changes in patients' condition to the nursing staff.
- Help patients with mobility and transfers as needed.
- Administer basic medical treatments, such as taking vital signs and performing basic wound care.
- Maintain a clean and safe patient environment, including changing linens, emptying bedpans, and keeping rooms tidy.
- Communicate effectively with patients, their families, and the healthcare team to ensure the best possible care.
- Participate in patient care planning and collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure coordinated and comprehensive care.
- Adhere to infection control and safety protocols, and report any concerns or issues to the appropriate personnel.
- Attend and participate in trainings and professional development opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge.
- Uphold Encompass Health's mission and values in all interactions with patients, families, and colleagues.
- Maintain accurate and complete patient records, including documenting care provided and any changes in patients' condition.
- Demonstrate sensitivity and understanding towards patients' physical, emotional, and cultural needs.
- Adhere to all regulatory and ethical standards, including HIPAA and patient confidentiality.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives to ensure high-quality and patient-centered care.
High School Diploma Or Equivalent: A Patient Care Technician At Encompass Health Should Have A Minimum Of A High School Diploma Or Equivalent Education To Demonstrate Basic Academic Skills And Knowledge.
Certified Nursing Assistant (Cna) Certification: Encompass Health Requires All Patient Care Technicians To Have A Valid Cna Certification From An Accredited Program. This Certification Ensures That Candidates Have The Necessary Skills And Knowledge To Provide Basic Patient Care.
Experience In A Healthcare Setting: Candidates With Previous Experience In A Healthcare Setting, Such As A Hospital Or Long-Term Care Facility, Are Preferred For This Role. This Experience Demonstrates A Familiarity With The Healthcare Environment And The Ability To Work With Patients.
Basic Life Support (Bls) Certification: Encompass Health Requires All Patient Care Technicians To Have A Valid Bls Certification. This Certification Ensures That Candidates Are Trained In Basic Life-Saving Techniques And Can Respond Appropriately In Emergency Situations.
Strong Communication And Interpersonal Skills: Patient Care Technicians At Encompass Health Must Have Excellent Communication And Interpersonal Skills To Effectively Interact With Patients, Their Families, And Healthcare Professionals. This Includes The Ability To Listen Actively, Show Empathy, And Communicate Clearly And Respectfully.
