Life Underwriting Specialist
Evaluate, classify and underwrite individual applications and benefits within approval limits, up to $2,500,000.00. Proactively increase agent knowledge of individual insurance concepts especially with their high net worth clientele. Consult with field (Agent/DM, etc.) regarding current or potential life insurance applications to review underwriting requirements, guidelines, and practices. Underwrites the most complex financial, medical and non-medical policies and researches issues as needed. Inform chief underwriter or underwriting management of any unusual or unexpected trends found during daily underwriting. Consult UW Specialist II or Chief UW Officer as needed on unique or complex issues.
Bachelor’s degree preferred
Attainment of FLMI and/or FALU designation.
5 Years of Life Underwriting experience
At least 2 years as a Sr. Life Underwriter (or comparable experience)
