- Develop and implement investment risk management strategies and policies in alignment with the company's goals and objectives.
- Lead and oversee a team of risk management professionals to ensure the timely and accurate identification, measurement, and monitoring of investment risks.
- Conduct regular risk assessments and provide recommendations to senior management on areas of improvement.
- Collaborate with various departments, including portfolio management, operations, and compliance, to ensure risk management processes are integrated throughout the organization.
- Stay updated on industry trends and regulations related to investment risk management and make necessary adjustments to company policies and procedures.
- Develop and maintain relationships with external partners and regulators to ensure compliance and best practices.
- Analyze and report on investment risk metrics and provide insights and recommendations to senior management and stakeholders.
- Lead the development and implementation of risk training programs for employees to promote a culture of risk awareness and mitigation.
- Drive continuous improvement in risk management processes and systems to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
- Serve as a subject matter expert on investment risk management and represent the company in industry conferences and events.
Extensive Knowledge Of Financial Markets And Investment Products: A Director Of Investment Risk At Fidelity Investments Must Have A Deep Understanding Of Various Financial Markets, Including Stocks, Bonds, Mutual Funds, And Alternative Investments. They Should Also Have A Thorough Knowledge Of Different Investment Products And Their Associated Risks.
Strong Analytical And Problem-Solving Skills: This Role Requires The Ability To Analyze Complex Financial Data And Identify Potential Risks. The Director Must Be Able To Use Critical Thinking Skills To Develop Solutions And Strategies To Manage And Mitigate These Risks.
Experience In Risk Management: The Ideal Candidate Should Have A Minimum Of 7-10 Years Of Experience In Investment Risk Management, Preferably In A Leadership Role. They Should Have A Proven Track Record Of Implementing Risk Management Policies And Procedures And Successfully Navigating Through Market Downturns.
Excellent Communication And Collaboration Skills: As A Director, This Individual Will Need To Effectively Communicate With Various Stakeholders, Including Portfolio Managers, Senior Leaders, And Clients. They Must Be Able To Articulate Complex Risk Concepts In A Clear And Concise Manner And Work Collaboratively With Other Teams To Implement Risk Management Strategies.
Strong Leadership And Team Management Experience: The Director Will Be Responsible For Managing A Team Of Risk Professionals And Providing Guidance And Mentorship. They Should Have A Proven Ability To Lead And Motivate A Team To Achieve Common Goals And Objectives. Additionally, Experience In Managing A Diverse Team And Promoting An Inclusive Work Environment Is Highly Desirable.
