  1. Manage and maintain the company's MS SQL databases, ensuring their reliability and efficiency.
  2. Optimize database performance by monitoring usage, identifying and resolving issues, and implementing necessary improvements.
  3. Develop and implement backup and recovery strategies to ensure data integrity and availability.
  4. Collaborate with the development team to design and implement efficient database structures and processes.
  5. Troubleshoot and resolve database-related issues in a timely manner.
  6. Provide technical guidance and support to other team members on database-related matters.
  7. Stay updated on the latest database technologies and trends, and make recommendations for their implementation.
  8. Identify potential security risks and implement necessary measures to ensure data protection.
  9. Create and maintain documentation on database configurations, procedures, and processes.
  10. Work closely with cross-functional teams to gather and analyze data requirements for various projects.
  11. Monitor database performance and make recommendations for improvements to meet business needs.
  12. Proactively identify and address database-related issues and risks.
  13. Collaborate with vendors and external partners to resolve database-related issues.
  14. Train and mentor junior database administrators on best practices and procedures.
  15. Ensure compliance with data privacy and security regulations.

Job Qualifications

  • Extensive Experience With Ms Sql Server: A Senior Database Administrator At First Data Should Have A Deep Understanding And Hands-On Experience With Ms Sql Server. They Should Be Proficient In Database Design, Maintenance, Performance Tuning, And Troubleshooting.

  • Strong Knowledge Of Database Security: As A Senior Database Administrator, It Is Crucial To Have A Strong Understanding Of Database Security Protocols And Best Practices. This Includes Implementing And Maintaining Access Controls, Encryption, And Disaster Recovery Plans.

  • Experience With Database Migration And Upgrades: First Data Is A Fast-Paced And Growing Company, So The Senior Database Administrator Should Have Experience With Database Migration And Upgrades. They Should Be Able To Seamlessly Move Data From Legacy Systems To Newer Versions Of Ms Sql Server.

  • Leadership And Project Management Skills: This Role Requires Strong Leadership And Project Management Skills As The Senior Database Administrator Will Be Responsible For Managing A Team Of Database Administrators And Overseeing Large-Scale Projects.

  • Excellent Problem-Solving And Communication Skills: A Senior Database Administrator Should Have Excellent Problem-Solving Skills And The Ability To Communicate Complex Technical Information To Non-Technical Stakeholders. They Should Also Be Able To Work Well Under Pressure And Handle Multiple Tasks Simultaneously.
