  1. Lead the research and development of new fabrics for Gap collections, ensuring that they meet the brand's standards for quality, style, comfort, and sustainability.
  2. Stay updated on industry trends and developments in fabric technology, incorporating them into Gap's product offerings.
  3. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including design, production, and sourcing, to ensure that fabric development aligns with product vision and timelines.
  4. Manage fabric sourcing and relationships with suppliers, negotiating pricing and timelines to meet business goals.
  5. Conduct fabric testing and analysis to ensure performance and quality standards are met.
  6. Work closely with the sustainability team to identify and implement sustainable fabric options for Gap products.
  7. Develop and manage fabric development budgets, ensuring cost efficiency without compromising on quality.
  8. Train and mentor team members on fabric development processes and best practices.
  9. Communicate progress and updates on fabric development to key stakeholders, including senior management.
  10. Proactively identify and solve any potential fabric-related issues or challenges that may arise during the development process.
  11. Stay updated on industry regulations and compliance requirements related to fabric sourcing and production.
  12. Continuously strive to improve and innovate fabric development processes to drive efficiency and productivity.

Job Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree In Fashion Design, Textile Science, Or A Related Field.

  • Minimum Of 3-5 Years Of Experience In Fabric Research And Development, Preferably In The Retail Or Fashion Industry.

  • Strong Understanding Of Fabric Properties, Production Processes, And Sourcing Strategies.

  • Excellent Communication And Project Management Skills, With The Ability To Work Collaboratively With Cross-Functional Teams.

  • Proven Track Record Of Successfully Developing And Commercializing New Fabric Concepts And Innovations.
