
Government Relations Counsel
Geico Auto Insurance is seeking an experienced and knowledgeable Government Relations Counsel to join our team and represent our interests in the public arena. The successful candidate will be an influential figure who is able to navigate complex governmental relations and regulations, while proactively advocating for Geico Auto Insurance. The Government Relations Counsel must possess strong communication and interpersonal skills, have a deep understanding of the legislative process, and be willing to work closely with our executive leadership team.Qualifications:• Bachelor’s degree in Political Science, Public Policy, or a related field is required• At least 5 years of experience in a government relations role• Knowledge of the legislative process and experience in lobbying• Proven history of successfully influencing public policy• Excellent written and verbal communication skills• Ability to collaborate across departments and divisions• Ability to think strategically and anticipate potential risks• Ability to build strong relationships with external stakeholdersIf you have a passion for government relations and public policy, and are looking for an opportunity to join a dynamic team at Geico Auto Insurance, we want to hear from you.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain relationships with external stakeholders, including government officials and regulators.
- Monitor and analyze legislative and regulatory developments to identify potential impacts to Geico Auto Insurance.
- Prepare and present reports to senior leadership on legislative and regulatory developments.
- Develop and execute strategies to influence public policy and advocate for the interests of Geico Auto Insurance.
- Represent Geico Auto Insurance at government and industry meetings and events.
- Prepare and file lobbying disclosure reports in compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
- Provide legal advice and counsel on government relations matters.
- Draft, review, and negotiate legislative and regulatory documents.
- Assist with the development and implementation of Geico Auto Insurance’s public affairs and government relations initiatives.
