
Government Relations Counsel
At Geico Auto Insurance, we are looking for an experienced and highly motivated Government Relations Counsel to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for monitoring and advocating for our company's interests at the state, federal, and local levels. In this role, you will work closely with our legal, compliance, and public policy teams to ensure our company is in compliance with relevant laws and regulations.To be successful in this position, you must have a JD or LLM degree and a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in government relations and public policy. You must have a strong understanding of the legislative and regulatory process including how to develop and execute successful government relations strategies. You must also have excellent communication and research skills and be able to effectively collaborate with a variety of stakeholders.If you are an experienced Government Relations Counsel with a passion for public policy and a commitment to ensuring compliance with government regulations, we would love to hear from you.
Responsibilities:
- Monitor legislative and regulatory developments at the state, federal, and local levels to ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
- Develop and execute government relations strategies to advocate for our company’s interests.
- Collaborate with legal, compliance, and public policy teams to ensure our company’s interests are effectively represented.
- Research and analyze relevant public policy issues to identify opportunities for advocacy.
- Maintain and cultivate relationships with policymakers and other stakeholders.
- Draft and submit comments on proposed regulations.
- Prepare reports, presentations, and other materials to support our company’s government relations efforts.
- Attend meetings, hearings, and other events to represent our company’s interests.
- Stay up-to-date with relevant legislative and regulatory developments.
- Provide advice and guidance to internal teams on government relations and public policy matters.
