Aquarist

This part-time position will report directly to the Aquatics Curator but will also be managed and supervised by our senior aquarist. The GSC is one of only a few dually accredited AZA and AAM institutions. Aquarium exhibits/animals include: Amazon fishes, stingrays, giant Pacific octopus, and a 90,000-gallon open ocean tank. Duties include diet preparation, water quality testing, salt water production, exhibit maintenance and record keeping, as well as daily enrichment and/or operant conditioning while under the direction of the lead aquarist. Other activities include maintenance diving, supervision of interns and volunteers, conducting keeper talks, and shared responsibilities of common-use areas.
