Home Repair Technician

Position Overview: Join the Habitat for Humanity of Orange County team bringing people together to build homes, community and hope. We have an immediate opening for a Home Repair Technician. The Home Repair Technician schedules appointments with sub-contractors and homeowners, performs residential home repairs for selected income qualified and veteran homeowners in Orange County. The Home Repair Technician works on a team that may include subcontractors and volunteers performing repair and rehab tasks.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

• Attends project site visits to photograph and document homeowner needs and potential scope of work
• Drafts scope of work, organizing, and scanning project files
• Coordinates with supervisors and homeowners to prioritize homeowner requests
• Coordinates appointments between contractors, homeowners, and Site Supervisor/Superintendent tracking appointments in Microsoft Outlook
• Assists with scheduling any subcontractors to complete specific tasks to help ensure compliance with work orders/contracts
• Supports the supervisor with the coordination and physical repair of foundations, wood framing, roofing, plumbing, mechanical, electrical, doors, windows, siding, drywall, cabinet and counter top repair, painting, landscaping, and site drainage
• Assists in the instruction of unskilled volunteers in the methods of completing correctly and safely all processes of repair activities
• Assists in ensuring that all construction tools and equipment are in safe working condition on any job site and that any tools not in proper, safe working condition are removed from the job site. Coordinates the reporting of tools and equipment to Construction
• Coordinates the delivery of supplies, tools, and materials to the job site to ensure daily tasks are able to be completed in a timely manner
• Provides reports, material and service receipts, and updates to the repair schedule at the direction of the Superintendent
• Supports the Superintendent by providing input to Volunteer Services and Fund Development as to the need for and status of work accomplishments of Volunteer Groups and Individuals
• Conducts home visits and Homeowner Packet signing meetings
