  1. Collect and analyze data related to trauma patient care to identify patterns and trends.
  2. Ensure accuracy and completeness of data by meticulously reviewing and abstracting medical records.
  3. Follow established protocols and procedures for data collection and abstraction.
  4. Utilize knowledge of medical terminology and coding to accurately abstract clinical data.
  5. Collaborate with healthcare providers and other team members to obtain necessary information and clarify data discrepancies.
  6. Maintain confidentiality and security of all patient records and data in accordance with HIPAA regulations.
  7. Stay updated on industry standards and regulations related to trauma data abstraction.
  8. Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance data collection and reporting processes.
  9. Communicate findings and trends to appropriate stakeholders to support decision-making and improve patient outcomes.
  10. Maintain accurate and organized records of data collection and abstraction activities.
  11. Attend trainings and educational opportunities to enhance knowledge and skills related to trauma data abstraction.
  12. Adhere to deadlines and manage time effectively to complete data abstraction tasks in a timely manner.
  13. Provide support and assistance to other team members as needed.
  14. Maintain a positive and professional attitude while representing HCA Healthcare in a responsible and ethical manner.

Job Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree In Nursing, Healthcare Administration, Or A Related Field.

  • Minimum Of 2 Years Experience In Data Abstraction, Preferably In A Trauma Center Or Acute Care Setting.

  • Knowledge Of Trauma Registries And Data Collection Standards, Such As The National Trauma Data Bank (Ntdb) And The American College Of Surgeons Trauma Quality Improvement Program (Tqip).

  • Proficiency In Medical Terminology And Understanding Of Clinical Documentation.

  • Strong Analytical And Problem-Solving Skills, With The Ability To Accurately And Efficiently Abstract Complex Medical Information.
