Job Description

Develop and implement analytical pipelines for the analysis of next-generation sequencing data such as whole-genome sequencing. Develop and implement analytical pipelines for the analysis of nanopore sequencing data. Develop pipelines for data loading into genomic databases. Develop pipelines for creating custom bioinformatics reports. Maintain existing bioinformatics pipelines. Standardize data to common ontologies in plant science and other ontologies within the Open Biological and Biomedical Ontologies (OBO) Foundry. Write research papers, reports and summaries. Provide project status update and present results on a periodic basis.

Job Qualifications

  • 5+ years’ of relevant experience

  • Familiar with molecular biology and genomics

  • Experience in Illumina sequencing data, bioinformatics Next Generation Sequencing pipelines and public domain tools

  • Working knowledge of code repository best practices and distributed version control
