  1. Provide high-quality medical care to incarcerated individuals in the correctional system.
  2. Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to address the physical and mental health needs of patients.
  3. Conduct thorough medical assessments and develop individualized treatment plans for patients.
  4. Administer medications and other medical treatments as prescribed.
  5. Monitor and evaluate patient progress, adjusting treatment plans as needed.
  6. Educate patients on health and wellness topics, as well as proper medication and treatment adherence.
  7. Maintain accurate and timely medical records.
  8. Communicate effectively with patients, colleagues, and correctional staff.
  9. Adhere to all safety and security protocols within the correctional facility.
  10. Stay current on developments and advancements in the correctional healthcare field.
  11. Demonstrate compassion, empathy, and professionalism in all interactions with patients and colleagues.
  12. Handle challenging and fast-paced situations with composure and efficiency.
  13. Uphold the ethical and legal standards of the nursing profession.
  14. Participate in ongoing training and professional development opportunities.
  15. Act as an advocate for patients and their healthcare needs within the correctional system.

Job Qualifications
  • Master's Degree In Nursing With A Specialization In Nurse Practitioner, Preferably With A Focus On Correctional Care.

  • Current And Unrestricted Nurse Practitioner License In The State Of Employment.

  • Minimum Of 2-3 Years Experience Working As A Nurse Practitioner In A Correctional Or Similar Setting.

  • Strong Knowledge And Understanding Of Correctional Health Care Policies, Procedures, And Regulations.

  • Certification As A Family Nurse Practitioner Or Adult-Gerontology Nurse Practitioner By A Recognized Certifying Body.
