  1. Conduct initial patient assessments and develop individualized care plans for patients with gastrointestinal conditions.
  2. Perform physical exams, order and interpret diagnostic tests, and prescribe medications as needed.
  3. Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive care to patients.
  4. Educate patients and their families on their condition, treatment plans, and preventative measures.
  5. Monitor patient progress and make necessary adjustments to treatment plans.
  6. Maintain accurate and detailed patient records and documentation.
  7. Adhere to all clinical protocols, standards, and guidelines in providing care to patients.
  8. Stay current with advances in the field of gastroenterology and integrate new techniques and treatments into practice.
  9. Participate in quality improvement initiatives and assist in developing and implementing new processes to improve patient outcomes.
  10. Serve as a resource and mentor to other healthcare team members.
  11. Maintain a professional and compassionate demeanor when interacting with patients, families, and colleagues.
  12. Adhere to ethical and legal standards in providing care to patients.
  13. Participate in continuing education and professional development activities to enhance knowledge and skills.
  14. Adhere to all safety and infection control protocols to ensure the safety of patients and staff.
  15. Collaborate with other departments and specialties to provide coordinated care for patients.
  16. Assist with administrative tasks, such as scheduling appointments and coordinating referrals.
  17. Communicate effectively with patients, families, and colleagues to ensure a positive patient experience.
  18. Continuously evaluate and improve the quality of care provided to patients.
  19. Adhere to HIPAA regulations and maintain patient confidentiality at all times.
  20. Foster a positive and collaborative work environment within the GI Services team.

Job Qualifications
  • Master's Degree In Nursing With A Specialization In Gastroenterology

  • Current Certification As A Nurse Practitioner In The State Of Employment

  • Minimum Of 2 Years Experience As A Nurse Practitioner In A Gastroenterology Setting

  • Knowledge Of Current Evidence-Based Practices And Guidelines In Gastroenterology

  • Strong Communication And Interpersonal Skills To Effectively Collaborate With Physicians, Patients, And Other Healthcare Team Members.
