
Engine Performance Simulation Engineer
Managing simulation activities requested by Group Leader or external department for the advancement of the engine system development and design. Developing and documenting Computer Aided Engineering (CAE) simulations and methodologies to synchronize with the objectives established by the engine design and test departments. Creating and carrying out verification and validation simulations to measure model uncertainty and model accuracy compared to experimental data that is collected. Carrying out Design of Experiments (DOE) using multiple parameters in the model to show engine performance sensitivities with the intent of helping provide a robust solution for design development. Analyzing both simulation and experimental test results to better understand and identify engine system performance, and effectively communicating these results to other team members and departments. Providing analysis, solutions, and working closely with both engine design and test departments to assist in product development through use and development of CAE methods.
Experience in 1D CAE in under-graduate, graduate program, or prior work
Ability to travel and work overtime may be required
