Job Description

We are looking for an experienced Commercial Collector to join the Houston Methodist team! As a Commercial Collector, you will be responsible for ensuring the timely collection of outstanding accounts receivable balances. You will be the liaison between our clients and our billing department, facilitating payment negotiations and ensuring accuracy of account records. The ideal candidate for this position will have a minimum of three years of experience in medical billing and collections. They must also have excellent problem solving and customer service skills, as well as a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail. The ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks and deadlines is essential. It is also important for the Commercial Collector to demonstrate strong communication and negotiation skills, and be organized and detail-oriented.

Responsibilities:

  1. Monitor customer accounts, analyze payment histories, and identify outstanding balances.
  2. Contact customers by phone and email to follow up on unpaid invoices.
  3. Negotiate payment arrangements with customers and set up payment plans when needed.
  4. Resolve discrepancies and customer complaints in a timely and professional manner.
  5. Maintain accurate customer account records and update account information as needed.
  6. Prepare and review monthly account statements and other financial reports.
  7. Work collaboratively with the billing department to ensure accuracy and compliance with established policies and procedures.
  8. Assist with other duties as assigned.
