Job Description

Houston Methodist is looking for an experienced and reliable EKG Monitor Technician to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will be patient-focused and have a passion for providing the highest quality of care to patients. To be successful in this role, you must have excellent communication skills, an attention to detail, and be able to work in a fast-paced environment with a positive attitude.The EKG Monitor Technician will be responsible for the maintenance and use of electrocardiogram (EKG) equipment, including Holter monitors, and the efficient operation of the EKG department. In addition, the technician will be responsible for the accurate and timely transmission of all data to the appropriate personnel.The successful candidate will possess a high school diploma or equivalent, at least one year of experience working in the EKG department of a hospital setting, and a valid EKG Monitor Technician certification. The ideal candidate will also demonstrate a strong commitment to patient care and demonstrate excellent communication skills.

Responsibilities of an EKG Monitor Technician include:

  1. Monitor and maintain electrocardiogram (EKG) equipment, including Holter monitors.
  2. Ensure the efficient operation of the EKG department.
  3. Accurately and timely transmit all data to the appropriate personnel.
  4. Provide excellent patient care.
  5. Demonstrate excellent communication skills.
  6. Maintain accurate records and documentation.
  7. Communicate effectively with other members of the healthcare team.
  8. Follow all safety protocols and procedures.
  9. Work in a fast-paced environment with a positive attitude.
  10. Maintain a clean and organized workspace.
