Job Description

We are looking for an outstanding Medical Oncologist to join our Houston Methodist team. The successful candidate will provide compassionate, expert cancer care to our patients and their families. The Medical Oncologist will be responsible for diagnosing and managing patients with cancer, coordinating their care with other specialists, and providing support services. This is an excellent opportunity for a highly qualified physician to join a renowned academic medical center.The ideal candidate will possess an MD/DO degree and be board certified/board eligible in Medical Oncology. Additionally, the Medical Oncologist should have a strong commitment to excellence in patient care, a team-oriented attitude, and the ability to work effectively with all levels of staff. Our ideal candidate will have demonstrated experience in clinical research and patient education, and a passion for teaching medical students and residents.

Responsibilities:

  1. Diagnose and manage patients with cancer and coordinate their care with other specialists.
  2. Provide compassionate, expert cancer care to patients and their families.
  3. Support patients and families in understanding their diagnosis and treatment options.
  4. Develop and implement individualized treatment plans for each patient.
  5. Participate in clinical research and patient education.
  6. Maintain accurate and detailed patient records.
  7. Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure quality care.
  8. Provide teaching and mentorship to medical students and residents.
  9. Adhere to all applicable healthcare regulations and standards of care.
  10. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of medical advances in oncology.
