Job Description

As an experienced Nurse Navigator - Oncology at Houston Methodist, you will have a unique opportunity to make a difference in the lives of patients fighting cancer. Our Nurse Navigator - Oncology is responsible for providing comprehensive education and support to patients and families as they navigate their cancer treatment journey. To be successful in this role, you must have an advanced knowledge of oncology and the healthcare system, as well as excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Additionally, you must have a passion for helping others and be able to build strong relationships with patients, families, and care providers. Responsibilities:

  • Provide comprehensive education and support to patients and families navigating their cancer treatment journey
  • Develop strong relationships with patients, families, and care providers
  • Utilize advanced knowledge of oncology and healthcare system to effectively guide patients through their treatment
  • Facilitate patient/family meetings to discuss care plans and provide resources
  • Monitor patient progress and evaluate outcomes
  • Update patients on changes in treatment plans and new information as needed
  • Maintain accurate patient records and provide reports to relevant parties
  • Identify and refer patients to appropriate support services
  • Advocate for patient rights and ensure they receive quality care
  • Remain up-to-date on new treatments and technologies in oncology

Job Qualifications
  • Excellent Interpersonal And Communication Skills

  • Bachelor's Degree In Nursing (Bsn)

  • Licensed Registered Nurse (Rn) In The State Of Texas

  • Minimum Of Two Years Clinical Nursing Experience In Oncology

  • Knowledge Of Oncology And Cancer Care

  • Ability To Work With Multi-Disciplinary Teams

  • Knowledge Of Current Evidence-Based Practice Guidelines
