Job Description

We are seeking an experienced, knowledgeable, and compassionate Phlebotomist to join our Pathology team at Houston Methodist. In this role, you will be responsible for performing blood draws and other duties related to specimen collection, as well as providing excellent customer service in a fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate will possess strong interpersonal and organizational skills, along with a commitment to patient safety and comfort.The successful candidate will have a minimum of two years of phlebotomy experience, preferably in a hospital or clinical setting, and a current certification as a Certified Phlebotomist Technician (CPT). In addition, you should have the ability to remain calm in stressful situations, excellent communication skills, and a dedication to providing quality care to our patients. Responsibilities: • Draw blood from patients in a safe and comfortable manner • Collect and label specimens according to established protocols • Process specimens using laboratory equipment and computers • Maintain phlebotomy supplies and equipment • Follow all safety protocols and procedures • Provide excellent customer service to patients in a fast-paced environment • Maintain records of patient information and specimen collection • Assist with other duties related to specimen collection as needed • Remain calm and professional in stressful situations • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure quality care • Follow all laboratory regulations and guidelines
