
Physical Therapist Assistant - Inpatient
We are seeking an experienced and passionate Physical Therapist Assistant - Inpatient to join our team at Houston Methodist. Our Physical Therapist Assistant will provide physical therapy services to our patients to help them restore maximum movement and functionality. This individual will work with the physical therapy team to evaluate, plan, and administer physical therapy treatments. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of a two-year Associate's degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited college. They must be licensed in the state of Texas and have their certification as a Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) from the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA). The successful candidate will have excellent interpersonal and communication skills, be detail-oriented, and have the ability to work independently and as part of a team. Responsibilities:
- Evaluate patients to determine impairments, functional limitations, and prognosis.
- Develop and implement physical therapy treatment plans for patients.
- Administer physical therapy treatments to patients.
- Monitor and record patient progress and provide updated information to the physical therapy team.
- Provide education and support to patients and families about physical therapy treatments.
- Maintain patient records and document treatments in electronic medical records.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive patient care.
- Ensure adherence to all relevant laws, regulations, and guidelines.
- Participate in continuing education programs and other activities to stay up to date on latest developments.
- Maintain a safe and clean work environment.
