Job Description

We are looking for a highly motivated and organized Research Assistant to join our Pathology team at Houston Methodist. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to contribute significantly to our research endeavors and to work with our dedicated staff of professionals.The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor’s degree in a life science (e.g. Biology, Biochemistry, Anatomy, etc.) and prior research experience in a laboratory setting. They must have excellent communication skills and the ability to work independently as well as within a larger team. This individual must also be comfortable working with computers and other laboratory equipment.This position requires a highly organized individual with an eye for detail and commitment to accuracy in data collection and analysis. The successful candidate must demonstrate enthusiasm for the project and possess a desire to learn and grow in the field. Responsibilities:

  1. Work with laboratory equipment and computers to collect and analyze data
  2. Assist with research projects in the Pathology department
  3. Maintain accuracy and attention to detail in data collection and analysis
  4. Work independently and collaborate with larger team
  5. Provide excellent communication skills
  6. Maintain enthusiasm and willingness to learn and grow in the field
  7. Ensure compliance with safety regulations and procedures
