Job Description

The Houston Methodist Research Institute is currently seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Research Contract Analyst to join the team. This position requires a highly organized individual with excellent communication and problem-solving skills. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing contract management and legal support with an emphasis on research agreements. The successful candidate should have a thorough understanding of contract law and be able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment. This position requires a bachelor's degree in a relevant field and at least three years of experience in contract analysis and management. Responsibilities:

  1. Negotiate research agreements and contracts, ensuring compliance with organizational guidelines and applicable federal and state regulations.
  2. Draft, review, and analyze legal documents, such as contracts, grant agreements, and memorandums of understanding.
  3. Monitor and track contract performance, including review of financial and compliance reports.
  4. Serve as a liaison between the Houston Methodist Research Institute and external partners, such as vendors, sponsors, and other entities.
  5. Provide legal advice, guidance, and support to the research team and other stakeholders.
  6. Develop and maintain a database of contracts and agreements.
  7. Perform research and analysis to identify potential risks and provide risk mitigation strategies.
  8. Assist with the development and implementation of contract management policies and procedures.
  9. Monitor changes in applicable laws and regulations and provide updates to stakeholders.
  10. Prepare and present reports to management regarding contract performance.
