Job Description

The scheduler role at Houston Methodist is an integral part of our team of professionals. We are looking for a detail-oriented individual to join our team and provide outstanding customer service to our patients. The ideal candidate is a highly organized problem-solver who can effectively handle multiple tasks and prioritize based on urgency.The Scheduler will be responsible for coordinating and scheduling patient appointments and follow-up visits, ensuring accuracy in patient information, verifying insurance coverage, and providing excellent customer service. They will work with our team to ensure that patients have a positive experience.Required Qualifications:• High school diploma or equivalent• Previous experience in a similar role in a healthcare setting• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written• Ability to work independently and as part of a team• Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time efficiently• Flexibility to work evenings and weekends as needed• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite• Knowledge of medical terminology

Responsibilities of a Scheduler:

• Schedule patient appointments and follow-up visits in a timely manner, ensuring accuracy of patient information • Verify insurance coverage for patients • Provide excellent customer service to patients and families • Utilize Microsoft Office Suite to effectively manage scheduling tasks • Maintain patient confidentiality and follow HIPAA regulations • Prioritize tasks and manage time efficiently • Work both independently and as part of a team • Remain flexible to work evenings and weekends as needed • Demonstrate knowledge of medical terminology
