Job Description

We are seeking a talented and innovative Scientific Writer - Education to join the Houston Methodist team! This is a great opportunity for a highly motivated individual to make an impact in a vital role that is central to our research and clinical teams.Our ideal candidate is a detail-oriented, strategic thinker with exceptional writing, editing, and communication skills. The successful candidate will have a degree in scientific writing, communications, or a related field, and at least two years of experience in a scientific writing role. Additionally, familiarity with medical or scientific research and terminology is preferred.This is a great opportunity to work with a dynamic team of dedicated professionals and use your skills to make a difference in our organization. Responsibilities:

  1. Develop and write high-quality scientific content in accordance with Houston Methodist standards.
  2. Edit and refine scientific content for accuracy and clarity.
  3. Collaborate with clinical and research teams to gather data and develop content.
  4. Utilize medical and scientific terminology and research to create content.
  5. Monitor progress of scientific writing projects and ensure deadlines are met.
  6. Develop and implement strategies for improving scientific writing processes.
  7. Provide guidance and direction to junior scientific writers.
  8. Stay up-to-date on advances in scientific writing and related topics.
  9. Participate in meetings and brainstorming sessions to discuss scientific writing initiatives.
  10. Maintain all records associated with scientific writing projects.
