Job Description

The position of Sr. Radiation Therapist at Houston Methodist is an exciting opportunity for a qualified and experienced professional to join a world-class team of healthcare providers. As a Sr. Radiation Therapist, you will be responsible for providing state-of-the-art radiation therapy treatments to patients, while working collaboratively with other healthcare providers to ensure the best possible outcomes for our patients. To be successful in this role, you must possess a strong technical background and have excellent interpersonal skills. We are looking for a motivated and compassionate individual to join our team and help us continue our mission of providing quality care to our community.Qualifications: • Bachelor’s degree in Radiation Therapy or a related field• Current certification in radiation therapy from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT)• Minimum of three years of experience in a clinical setting• Knowledge of medical terminology, radiation oncology, and therapeutic techniques• Ability to maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA regulations• Excellent communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills • Ability to work independently and collaboratively with other healthcare providers

Responsibilities:

  1. Provide radiation therapy treatments to patients in accordance with established protocols.
  2. Monitor patient progress and adjust treatments as needed.
  3. Maintain patient records and ensure accuracy and confidentiality.
  4. Follow safety protocols and adhere to HIPAA regulations.
  5. Maintain a working knowledge of radiation oncology, medical terminology, and therapeutic techniques.
  6. Collaborate with other healthcare providers to ensure the best possible outcomes for patients.
  7. Participate in continuing education and training opportunities to stay current with advances in radiation therapy.
  8. Supervise and train junior radiation therapists.
  9. Provide patient education and support regarding radiation therapy treatments.
  10. Troubleshoot and resolve technical and clinical issues.
