Job Description

We are currently seeking an experienced, organized, and detail-oriented Unit Administrative Assistant to join our Infusion Center at Houston Methodist. This role requires a motivated self-starter with excellent communication skills who can manage a high-volume workload and provide superior customer service to our patients and their families.The successful candidate should possess a keen eye for detail, strong problem-solving abilities, a high degree of professionalism, and the ability to stay organized while working in a fast-paced environment. The Unit Administrative Assistant will report to the Infusion Center Manager and be responsible for managing the day-to-day administrative operations of the Infusion Center.Required qualifications:- High school diploma or equivalent- Minimum of 2 years of administrative support or related experience- Excellent communication and customer service skills- Proven ability to multitask and stay organized- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite- Familiarity with medical terminology- Ability to work independently and as part of a team- Proactive, organized, and detail oriented- Flexible schedule with the ability to work weekends and holidays as needed

Responsibilities:

  1. Assist the Infusion Center Manager with daily administrative tasks and operations.
  2. Provide excellent customer service to patients and their families.
  3. Handle incoming calls and inquiries in a professional manner.
  4. Maintain accurate records and filing systems.
  5. Process patient paperwork in accordance with departmental protocol.
  6. Monitor office inventory and order supplies as needed.
  7. Assist with scheduling patient appointments and coordinating treatments.
  8. Ensure compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local laws, regulations, and guidelines.
  9. Develop and implement office policies and procedures.
  10. Assist in the implementation of new programs and initiatives.
  11. Perform data entry and other clerical duties as needed.
  12. Maintain a high degree of professionalism and confidentiality.
  13. Work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays, as required.
