  1. Conduct thorough audits of inpatient medical coding processes to ensure accuracy and compliance with coding guidelines and regulations.
  2. Provide detailed reports and analysis of audit findings to management and make recommendations for improvement.
  3. Collaborate with coding and billing teams to identify and address any coding discrepancies or errors.
  4. Stay up-to-date on coding guidelines and regulations to ensure compliance and make recommendations for process improvements.
  5. Train and educate coding team members on coding guidelines and regulations to ensure consistent and accurate coding practices.
  6. Utilize analytical skills to identify trends and patterns in coding data and make recommendations for process improvements.
  7. Communicate effectively with team members, management, and other departments to resolve coding issues and ensure accuracy and efficiency.
  8. Maintain confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA regulations when handling sensitive medical information.
  9. Participate in meetings and trainings to stay informed on company policies and procedures.
  10. Uphold a high level of ethical standards and integrity in all coding audits and processes.
  11. Collaborate with other departments to develop and implement coding compliance training programs.
  12. Demonstrate a strong work ethic and ability to work independently while meeting deadlines.
  13. Prioritize and manage workload effectively to ensure timely completion of audits.
  14. Continuously seek opportunities for professional growth and development in the field of medical coding.
  15. Represent the company in a professional and positive manner at all times.

Job Qualifications
  • Certified Professional Coder (Cpc) Certification From The American Academy Of Professional Coders (Aapc) Or Certified Coding Specialist (Ccs) Certification From The American Health Information Management Association (Ahima).

  • Bachelor's Degree In Health Information Management Or Related Field.

  • Minimum Of 3-5 Years Of Experience In Inpatient Medical Coding And Auditing.

  • In-Depth Knowledge Of Icd-10-Cm And Pcs Coding Guidelines And Regulations.

  • Strong Analytical And Problem-Solving Skills, With The Ability To Identify Coding Errors And Provide Recommendations For Improvement.
