- Develop and implement strategies for protecting IBM's intellectual property rights.
- Conduct thorough research and analysis to identify potential intellectual property risks and opportunities.
- Draft and review legal documents, including patent applications, licensing agreements, and non-disclosure agreements.
- Communicate with internal stakeholders, including engineers and product development teams, to understand and assess potential intellectual property issues.
- Collaborate with outside counsel to manage and maintain IBM's patent portfolio.
- Monitor and track industry trends and competitor activities to inform intellectual property strategies.
- Stay up-to-date on changes in intellectual property laws and regulations.
- Advise and provide guidance to business units on intellectual property matters.
- Handle disputes and litigation related to intellectual property.
- Conduct intellectual property due diligence for mergers and acquisitions.
- Educate and train employees on intellectual property best practices.
- Maintain accurate and organized records of all intellectual property-related documentation.
- Represent IBM in negotiations with third parties regarding intellectual property matters.
- Continuously identify and implement process improvements to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of IBM's intellectual property protection efforts.
- Uphold and promote IBM's core values and commitment to ethical and responsible business practices.
Juris Doctor (Jd) Degree From An Accredited Law School With A Focus On Intellectual Property Law.
Active Membership In Good Standing With The State Bar Association.
At Least 5 Years Of Experience Practicing Intellectual Property Law, Preferably With A Focus On Technology And Patents.
Strong Understanding Of Patent And Trademark Laws, As Well As Experience With Copyright And Trade Secrets.
Excellent Communication, Research, And Analytical Skills, With The Ability To Effectively Advise And Represent Clients In Complex Intellectual Property Matters.
