Head of Development

InterContinental Hotels is looking for a Head of Development that is passionate about building and leading high performing teams in a dynamic and fast-paced environment. This position will be based in our corporate office in Toronto, Canada and report to the Vice President of Development. The ideal candidate will bring a wealth of knowledge in real estate development, strategic planning, and team building.We seek a leader who will be responsible for the strategic development of our portfolio, driving and executing initiatives to create value and maximize returns. The Head of Development should be a problem solver with excellent communication and interpersonal skills, have the ability to think strategically and analytically, and be able to work effectively with cross-functional teams. Responsibilities:

• Lead and manage development teams in the strategic development of InterContinental’s portfolio to create value and maximize returns • Identify and evaluate opportunities for growth • Utilize financial analysis, business acumen, and negotiation skills to develop and execute strategies • Oversee and ensure compliance with development processes and regulations • Communicate effectively with cross-functional teams to ensure objectives and deadlines are met • Provide guidance and direction to team members to ensure goals are achieved • Develop and maintain relationships with external partners and vendors • Monitor performance, identify areas for improvement, and develop plans to address any issues • Stay up to date on industry trends and best practices to ensure InterContinental remains competitive in the market
