- Operate and monitor conveyor systems to ensure smooth and efficient movement of products throughout the production line.
- Ensure all safety protocols are followed when operating the conveyor systems.
- Perform routine inspections and maintenance on conveyors to identify and address any issues that may arise.
- Troubleshoot and resolve any problems with the conveyor systems to minimize downtime and disruptions to production.
- Adhere to all company and industry regulations and standards for food safety and quality control.
- Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors to coordinate production schedules and ensure timely movement of products.
- Maintain accurate records of production and conveyor system performance.
- Monitor and adjust conveyor speeds and settings as needed to optimize production efficiency.
- Train and mentor new team members on proper operation and maintenance of the conveyor systems.
- Collaborate with other departments, such as maintenance and quality control, to ensure proper functioning of the conveyor systems.

- Continuously seek ways to improve conveyor system operations and suggest innovative solutions to increase efficiency and productivity.

High School Diploma Or Equivalent: A High School Diploma Or Ged Is Typically Required For A Conveyor Operator Position At Jm Smucker. This Shows That The Candidate Has Basic Knowledge And Skills In Areas Such As Mathematics, Communication, And Problem-Solving.
Previous Experience In A Manufacturing Or Warehouse Environment: Experience Operating Conveyor Systems Or Other Machinery In A Fast-Paced Production Environment Is Highly Desirable For This Role. Candidates With Prior Experience Will Require Less Training And Can Hit The Ground Running.
Ability To Lift And Move Heavy Objects: This Job May Involve Lifting And Moving Heavy Objects, So Physical Strength And Stamina Are Important Qualifications. Candidates Should Be Able To Lift Up To 50 Pounds And Be Comfortable Standing And Walking For Extended Periods Of Time.
Attention To Detail: Conveyor Operators At Jm Smucker Must Be Able To Pay Close Attention To Detail To Ensure That The Conveyor System Is Running Smoothly And That Products Are Being Moved Correctly. This Includes Monitoring The Speed And Operation Of The Conveyor, Checking For Jams Or Malfunctions, And Making Adjustments As Needed.
Teamwork And Communication Skills: Conveyor Operators Work As Part Of A Team And Must Be Able To Communicate Effectively With Their Coworkers. They May Also Need To Coordinate With Other Departments, Such As Production Or Quality Control, So Strong Communication Skills Are Essential. Additionally, The Ability To Work Well With Others And Contribute To A Positive Team Dynamic Is Important For Success In This Role.
